I have seen this book around on social media, so I thought that I would give it a try. It would also tick off the fantasy genre on my list.
All I can say is that I absolutely loved this book! It kept me engaged the whole way through. It was one of those ones where I couldn’t put it down! The characters were well written and made me really want a happy ending for them all. Whilst it was sad in places, it was from that sadness that the characters found each other and were able to grow and develop together.
The contrasting settings in the book helped to emphasise the messages of the story, sadness and narrow-mindedness in the grey city and happiness on the sunny island surrounded by the cerulean sea. The happiness was then encouraged to start spreading out from the island.
The messages behind this story should be applied to everyone’s lives. I can’t recommend this book enough!
