Pandemic Reading List 2021 – Jane Austen: Her Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius, The Brontes: The Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius and Charles Dickens: His Novels In One Sitting by Joelle Herr

Jane Austen: Her Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius ⭐Rated 4/5⭐

The Brontes: The Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius ⭐Rated 4/5⭐

Charles Dickens: His Novels In One Sitting by Joelle Herr ⭐Rated 3/5⭐

I have decided to put these mini books together into one post as they are all from the same series and are all ‘read in one sitting’ books.

I decided a while ago that I needed to brush up on my classics knowledge and I thought what better way to acquire that knowledge than a mini book summarising the authors, characters and their stories! Sometimes the classics take me a while to get into because of their use of language, so having prior knowledge of the story helps me to keep on track and stops my attention from wandering.

So here are my mini reviews for my mini books:

Jane Austen: Her Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius ⭐Rated 4/5⭐

This tiny book is a good way to learn about the author and their works. It is brief and clearly set out. It gives you a flavour of the author’s work which I find helpful as sometimes the language in the original novels can be hard to follow. A good stocking filler.

The Brontes: The Complete Novels in One Sitting by Jennifer Kasius ⭐Rated 4/5⭐

I decided that I needed to know more about the Bronte’s stories and before I read them I thought that I would get a feel for them first. Sometimes I find classics hard to follow, so having an idea of what the story is about first helps. This was an excellent stocking filler and had a section on the Brontes themselves before going on to detail the characters and the story content themselves. There was just enough information without overloading you and it being turned into the book itself.

Charles Dickens: His Novels In One Sitting by Joelle Herr ⭐Rated 3/5⭐

This mini book is a good way to get to know about the author and his works. I did find some of the plot summaries confusing and due to the amount of books that he did, I got mixed up with all the different characters and their stories. I therefore recommend that you read it in a couple of sittings to really appreciate the stories. A good Christmas stocking filler.
