Pandemic Reading List 2021 – The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn

I got this for 99p on Kindle, but it is also available at the library.

After seeing Bridgerton on TV I decided that I needed to read the books. I read the first one and have to say that I was disappointed. So much more happened in the TV show. I kept waiting for things to happen and they never did! I therefore didn’t have high hopes for this one.

I am pleased to report that I loved this book! It is definitely up there with my favourite books. I loved the main character and her sense of humour. She wasn’t pretentious and was so protective and encouraging of her sister which was lovely to see.

The main character manages to get herself into all sorts of scrapes and dramas, yet she deals with it calmly and with good humour.

The settings were again lovely, with the big houses throwing parties and the beautiful clothes that they all got to wear.

It was gripping from beginning to end with all the drama, love and humour. I couldn’t put it down! I would definitely read this book again, which I think is the mark of a good book, especially when I have a large TBR pile and new books enticing me all the time!
