Six For Sunday – Books To Buy Your Toddler For Christmas

It’s Six for Sunday time hosted by A Little but a Lot. This week the challenge is Books I’m too scared to read, however as you know I don’t read scary books so this list would be literally all scary books! I have instead decided to do a list of 6 books that my toddler enjoys and therefore what I would recommend you to get as christmas presents for the toddlers in your life!

Spaghetti Hunters by Morag Hood (click here for review)

The Tallest House on the Street (click here for review)

There’s a Dragon in your book by Tom Fletcher (click here for review)

Dear Santa by Rod Campbell

Book Description From Goodreads:

“A letter to Santa starts off a merry chain of gift-wrapping, but nothing is quite right and each time Santa thinks better of his choice. Lift the flaps to unwrap each present and find out what Santa chooses as the perfect present in the end!”

Hey Duggee Goodnight Duggee

43706503. sx318

Book Description From Goodreads:

“It’s naptime at the Squirrel Club but the Squirrels are struggling to sleep!

Join your favourite Squirrels as they try sleeping upside down, standing up and holding hands . . . Will they ever fall asleep and earn their Sleeping Badges?

Featuring all of your favourite characters from the triple BAFTA-winning CBeebies show, this board book story is perfect for reading at bedtime and naptime with little Hey Duggee fans.”

My son loves to re-read this book over and over again. It isn’t a rhyming book, but there is a nice flow to it and pictures are bright and colourful. It is based on an episode from the TV programme Hey Duggee so my son recognises it and enjoys it.

Animal Music by Julia Donaldson

Book Description From Goodreads:

“Swing and sway! Sing and play! Stay and dance the night away! There’s harmony in the air when the animals get together for a concert with a difference. Koala’s playing his flute, Badger’s bashing away on the drums, and Squirrel’s strumming on the guitar. Sing and dance along—you’ve never seen a show like it! With trademark Julia Donaldson rhyming text and Nick Sharratt’s bold, funny illustrations, children will love this bright and playful book filled with silly animal antics”

This is a beautifully illustrated rhyming book that I enjoy reading to my son. There is a lovely flow to the words and my son can tell you what the next animal is before you even turn the page! Often if we are out and about we will start “reading” the book. A firm family favourite!

My toddler has so many wonderful books that it was hard to pick just 6, however these are the ones that he is enjoying the most at present!
