Top Ten Tuesday – Book Quote Freebie – Quotes that made me smile

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Book Quote Freebie. I have decided to choose quotes that made me smile:

Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Sutanto (click for link to my review)

“You’re not a mess. You just kill by accident only. Bad luck. Can happen to anyone.”

“I told you to buy Glad brand. Haven’t you seen their ads? Glad bags will hold his cut-up body just fine, no leaks!”

Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Sutanto (click for link to my review)

“They’ve gone through so much for me, like covering up an actual murder. The least I can do is pretend to like their hideous outfits.”

“Um, could we focus on the whole mafia part instead of the boyfriend-or-not-boyfriend thing? They do illicit things for a living and, uh, kill people who get in their way. And they’re using my wedding as an opportunity to”

Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano (click for my review)

“My relationship with Panera was complicated. I liked their soup. Panera didn’t like that I’d poured it over another customer’s head. In my defense, Theresa had started it when she’d attempted to justify her reasons for sleeping with my husband.”

“It’s a widely known fact that most moms are ready to kill someone by eight thirty A.M. on any given morning. On the particular morning of Tuesday, October eighth, I was ready by seven forty-five. If you’ve never had to wrestle a two-year-old slathered in maple syrup into a diaper while your four-year-old decides to give herself a haircut in time for preschool, all while trying to track down the whereabouts of your missing nanny as you sop up coffee grounds from an overflowing pot because in your sleep-deprived fog you forgot to put in the filter, let me spell it out for you.

I was ready to kill someone. I didn’t really care who.”

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman (click for my review)

“It was a well-known fact that there were no calories in homemade cakes.”

“After a certain age, you can pretty much do whatever takes your fancy. No one tells you off, except for your doctors and your children.”

The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman (click for my review)

“More women are murdering people these days,” says Joyce. “If you ignore the context, it is a real sign of progress.”

“Why diet at eighty-two?” says Joyce. “What’s a sausage roll going to do to you? Kill you? Well, join the queue.”

Happy TTT!

These are fun! I especially enjoyed “Why diet at eighty-two?” says Joyce. “What’s a sausage roll going to do to you? Kill you? Well, join the queue.”

I’m super curious about the ‘Aunties’ (those first two quotes do make a reader laugh!) books AND Ellie’s too. Both are more recent additions to my shelf, so we’ll see if I get them read. 😉 Thanks a bunch for visiting Finding Wonderland this week.
