Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books I Wish Had An Epilogue. I thought that this would be easy as I love an epilogue, but rarely see one. Upon investigating books further most books actually finish off with an epilogue style ending or they are part of a series so didn’t need one.
Here are 10 books that I managed to scrape together:

Book Review – A Loyal Traitor by Tim Glister
I basically want to find out what happens to the couples in these books with the exception of The Silent Companions where I want the ending to be more clear cut and The Guest List where I want to know what happens to the Murderer.

The Silent Companions was so creepy, an epilogue would be really interesting.

Great list. It’s good you were able to find a Top 10. I love epilogues so much that it was easy to remember the books that didn’t have any and I was lucky to have read most of these books during the last 2-3 months so it was still fresh in my mind.

I hear you on epilogues. But seriously, Emma is such a great pick — I know there are lots of Jane Asuten fanfics/ retellings out there, you’ve made me want to check them out now!

This was such a tough topic, but you did a great job with it! I haven’t read most of the books on this list, but a lot of them are on my TBR.

Great list – it’s definitely not easy to find books without any epilogue at all. The Guest List is on my TBR.

I decided a couple of years ago that I would read it before I was 30 😂 I knew of the story and had watched the film adaptations so my aim was to read the original ☺️

Epilogues are hit or miss with me. Like you, for a romance novel, I typically enjoy seeing what happens next.

I didn’t really understand the epilogue in Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I wanted to see what all the characters were up to not whatever it was.

I would love to find out what happens after Emma! Emma and Knightley might be the Austen couple I wonder most about.

Exactly. I loved that one. It is closer to the original story than previous adaptations I have seen.

I really liked it! I think the 2009 mini-series JUST about beats the 2020 film for me, though. Benefit of having an extra two hours to tell the story!

I sometimes find it easier to watch TV when I’m short on time, because it’s has useful breaks in episodes rather than settling in for a film! (And as a bonus, it gives the story full time to be told.)

I’m not a big epilogue person so I changed the topic this week, I’m impressed you managed to come up with 10, I don’t think I would have even made 5!

I do like a good epilogue… and I need to read The Guest List. I just read The PAris Apartment but Lucy Foley and really liked it!

I wouldn’t mind there being epilogues for any of Jane Austen’s books.

You are right, often there are some kind of epilogues, maybe that’s why I had so much trouble with finding books for that list and ended up with sequels I wished for. But we share one author, Jane Austen, though I picked my favourite, Persuasion. But I’d also welcome a sequel to Emma.

Great list! I’ve only read one of these books and I agree, The Guest List definitely could’ve used an epilogue. I have The Devil and the Dark Water on my TBR and I’m looking forward to reading it!
