Book Blogger Hop – Do you listen to audiobooks? If so, do you prefer listening instead of reading?

Welcome to the Book Blogger Hop! Hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer this week the prompt is:

Do you listen to audiobooks? If so, do you prefer listening instead of reading? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I do not listen to audiobooks. I do not have the concentration for them. I like to read every single word in a book and make sure that I understand what is going on for myself. Maybe when my son starts school I will give them a go just to see how I get on, but for now I am a physical reader!

Book Blogger Hop – Do you think listening to an audiobook instead of reading the print version makes it more difficult to write a review?

I have never been able to listen to fiction audiobooks. Last year, I gave a memoir by Mindy Kaling a try. I love her and I thought I needed to hear her tell me her story. I have listened to MANY audiobook memoirs told by the author. It’s my favorite way to listen/read memoirs! I still can’t do any other type of book though.

I was not an audiobook person either until COVID hit and my concentration skills abandoned me for a bit. Now I like it with certain books, that I might otherwise be intimidated by in physical form. I hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

I tried audiobooks but it isn’t working with my ADHD mind. I would get distracted and boom x chapters further and I have no recollection of ever hearing it. XD So I am sticking to ebooks/books.

I have to admit that I have never tried, but I did a practice run where someone on the radio was reading an extract of their book and my mind just wandered. I therefore haven’t persued audiobooks.

      Happy weekend too!

I can’t sit and just listen to an audiobook, I have to be doing something different, like driving, mowing the yard, doing household chores, or walking. But, I do enjoy them.

I listen to audiobooks very rarely because i can’t concentrate and a lot depends on the narrator’s voice and if it’s up my alley. But when i do listen to audiobooks i usually prefer to pair them up with ebooks so i wouldn’t miss any information while listening.
