Top Ten Tuesday – Storylines/Settings That Make Me Think Of Summer

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is a Freebie week so I have chosen 10 books that make me think of summer. It was quite hard to find books that I haven’t mentioned so far, but I have managed it!

Short Story – Mini Review – Buried by the Beach by Ellen Jacobson – COSY MYSTERY

This cosy mystery is set on the beach and the main characters live on a boat!

Book Review – Death in Paradise by J.E.Trent – COSY MYSTERY

This is set around Hawaii and the cover is also quite summery (and sinister at the same time!).

Book Review – The Keys To My Diary – Fern by Ann Omasta – ROM COM

This is set in the Florida Keys. As it is in a “diary” format you get to travel around with the character.

Book Review – A Killer Cupcake by Fiona Grace – COSY MYSTERY

This is set on the beachfront so you get to be in a shop near the beach!

Book Review – Bakeries and Bones by Nic Roberts – COSY MYSTERY

Again another shop near the beach.

Book Review – Aloha Hideaway Inn by Elana Johnson – ROM COM

Holiday rivals – the traditional Hawaiian B&B verses the brand new expensive hotel.

Book Review – Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella – ROM COM

When the main character goes on a writing retreat to Italy. A peaceful, beautiful place.

Book Review – Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson – ADVENTURE

Sailing a boat to an Island – the travel side of a holiday!

Book Review – Origin by Dan Brown – THRILLER

This takes place in Barcelona. I immediately wanted to travel there after reading this!

Book Review – The House in the Cerulean Sea by T J Klune – FANTASY

The cover reminds me more of summer than the story, but again there is travel involved for the main character.

Thank you. I have to admit that I did not like Treasure Island. I decided that I needed to read it to my son, but I didn’t enjoy it. He was still in his cot at the time so he has plenty of time to re read it when he is older!

House in the Cerulean Sea is definitely on my list!

Other books that feel summery to me – not necessarily because they take place in the summer, but because I can see myself reading them on vacation:
Murder on the Med by Ann Sutton
The Sweetest Thing by Sasha Summers
A Royal Murder by Verity Bright
Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors – Sonali Dev

Stop by and see my first ever Top Ten Tuesday!

Kinsella’s book is on my tbr. I always enjoy her books. And I read Treasure Island a few years ago with my son. We really enjoyed it! Happy summer reading!
