Welcome to my Let’s Talk Bookish post! Created by Rukky @ Eternity Books and hosted by Aria @ Book Nook Bits, this meme includes a set prompt which we are then let lose on to discuss.
This week’s prompt is:
Unhauling Books (Amber @ Escape Life in the Pages)
How do you feel about unhauling books?
I hate it. I always think ‘what if I want to read it again?’.
Do you get rid of books often? Or do you hold on to every book you buy?
No I don’t get rid of books often. I have never given any of my books away. I keep every single book, which is why I try to limit what I buy/ask for as presents. I have got a Kindle so that I don’t completely fill my shelves, but they are still gradually filling up! I haven’t got rid of any Kindle books yet either…
How do you decide which books to get rid of?
I couldn’t and so I don’t!
Are there any books you would never get rid of?
ALL OF THEM! I have only just got back in to reading so my shelves aren’t as bad as they could have been. I know that I have some of my childhood books at my mum’s house which I have started to move across to my house. Whilst I still have space I won’t even contemplate getting rid of any books!
What about you?

I use the library so much that almost every other week feels like I’m “unhauling” the books I return 😂

Haha. I never thought of that!

I do get rid of books that I’m sure I won’t read again. However I have been known to rebuy them on more than occasion😳

Oh no 🤣 I’m too possessive over my possessions. It’s silly really 🤣

As I have gotten older and am trying to declutter, I have gotten rid of a lot of books. I gave away, or donated books I had already read, and even books I hadn’t read, but know I won’t read now. Wait until you get older, Emily Jane.

I was just hoping to move to a bigger house in the future 😂🤣 I know what you mean though. My parents have gone through the loft. My step dad is a terror for train books though. The problem with those is that they keep gaining in value (apparently 🤣😂)

I have a room in my basement with my husband’s trains still set up and he has been gone for almost 6 years now. It is so hard to part with things.

Oh you definitely can’t part with that! I put emotions onto objects. Both my Grandparents have recently gone and it is hard not to keep all of their things.

I won’t be getting rid of them. I go into the room every now and then and remember.

I just give books to my sisters or the thrift store. I have very few physical books.

I don’t let my family members near my books and they know not to ask. I have seen the way they hold their books! I have a wall of bookshelves and we are having to find more space. To be fair a couple of shelves have ornaments on and it is a cumulation of my books and my partners.
