Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books I Read On Vacation (Submitted by Dedra @ A Book Wanderer).
The last holiday I went on was in August. I did actually get to read 3 books (I only finished one of them whilst I was there though!). Prior to this I haven’t been on holiday since 2018 and I didn’t take any books. I think that the last holiday where I actually took books to read was back in 2013, which was a family holiday with my parents. I don’t remember what books I read on that holiday. Holidays with my partner consisted of being out and about and so I don’t get time to read.
Taking the above into account, I have decided to list the 3 books that I read on that holiday and then list some of the books that I read over the rest of the school summer holidays.
Books I read when I was on holiday (in Wales):
Books I read over the rest of the summer holidays:
As I am still two short I am going to go back to the May school holidays:
A bit of a struggle this week, but I managed to scrape this list together!
What books have you read on holiday?

It seems like you read a lot of action-y, dramatic titles on vacation times! 🙂
Here’s my list for the week!

Thank you 😊 😂 oh I meant to tell you that I have asked my mum to get me that Julie Caplin Christmas book for my Elf Box this year 😂 (mum does us elf boxes on Christmas Eve and they always include a Christmas book 🤣)

I need to take a look at the Christmas Murder Game, that sounds like something I will like.
Thanks for visiting us earlier Emily, I think you actually did very well!

Circe definitely feels like a holiday read to me 🙂

Yes. It was ok. It was my first mythology retelling book.

The Weekend Before the Wedding looks like such a lovely vacation book. Nothing like a little escape while on an escape.

It was great! I loved it. I wasn’t feeling well for a couple of days and that book got me through – light and entertaining

Circe is one I need to pick up. I’ve heard so many good things about it.

A lot of people do like it. It wasn’t my favourite book. It sort of went on. If it was half the size I might have liked it more.

Norse Mythology was fantastic!

It was interesting. I didn’t really know much about Norse Mythology but I certainly felt more informed afterwards!

What a fun sounding list! I’ve got Norse Mythology on my TBR, and I always hear such great things about it.

It was good. It wasn’t the best thing that I have read. It was the best mythology retelling that I have read though – I have only read that one and Circe. I just don’t think that mythology retellings are for me which is a shame.

I’m a fan of mythology retellings when they’re done well, so I’d probably enjoy this one.

Maybe when I find one done well I will… I don’t know, I can’t expect to like everything I suppose!

I went a different direction because I can’t remember what I have read on vacation. Have a good week!

I’ve only started noting down what I have read so I only have a limited resource. Luckily I used the school holidays so didn’t have to go back too far!

I really like the cover of Circe, it looks good.

Yeah. It’s an ok book. I would have liked it better if it was shorter

I know what you mean. I have several books over 500 pages waiting for me to read and review, that’s why they’re still sitting there.

500 pages is a lot. Anything over 350 and I start to question it 🤣

Lol, most of mine are in the 350 range or a little higher but those sitting there from Berkley are just a bit longer than that 🙂

To be fair mine too. Luckily they are blog tour books so I have a deadline 😂

I *just* got back from a holiday in Wales, too–it’s such a beautiful place, I’m devastated to be back home haha! I hope you had a great holiday, and I’m glad you got some good reading in during it 🙂

I don’t get to read much on vacation either because, well, I’m mom! When do moms ever get to do what they want on vacation? Of course, I’m also the one who does all the driving, which doesn’t help either.

I haven’t been on holiday where I’ve been mum yet because we went with my mum! My partner does the driving. I was left with the bits inbetween though 😂

When I had young children I never was able to read much on a holiday. And I was usually visiting family or out and about. Nice list of books!

Thank you. Yeah I think reading on holiday is a thing of the past. When my partner and I started going on holiday together we packed it full of sightseeing so I didn’t read then. I think that the last holiday I went on where I read (apart from Wales this year) was in 2013 🤔

The title of the Tracy Bloom book is so cute! One of those that makes me want to head to Goodreads and read what that one is all about. 🙂

I loved it. A proper holiday book, or just an entertaining read for general consumption!

Summer holidays count for me! I still need to read Circe. It’s waiting on my shelf. 🙂

Excellent. It’s not a book that I would rush to read again. Lots of people seem to like it though.
