I need to read Woman in the Library. I heard Sulari Gentil speak at Melbourne Writers Festival a few weeks ago which was fun!

It was a good book. Very uniquely written. I have never heard an author speak – I bet it was fun!

Wow looks like some great Halloween recommendations! I have not read any of these but I love the way you’ve split them into categories. I’m not a big fan of spooky reads, but I love ones with an autumnal feel! My post is perhaps a little sarcastic but about why I don’t love spooky stories. Thank you. I try to cater for every reading need. I don’t do horror. The closest I get is Gothic Fiction.
I will have a look now!

Hi Emily!
I love ALL your books, although I’ve only read one or two. The Ex Hex and The witches of Moonshyne Manor are both books on my TBR after I saw them here on your blog. Yea for that!
Have a fun Halloween!

Yay! It is lovely to hear that my recommendations end up on people’s lists ❤
Thank you. You too – although I know that it isn't a big thing where you are. We are going round my mum's house for a "spooky" tea…

I have The Ex Hex on my list today as well. I still haven’t read it yet but I’ve heard so many great things!

Yes! I loved it. I got a bit annoyed at the unnecessary swearing, but the story overtook that and I ended up giving it the full 5 stars!

Great list! I am a person who can’t read scary things, but some of these might actually work for me.

Yes, Gothic Fiction is as close as I will get. The Silent Companions I wouldn’t recommend reading at night on your own just as a heads up…
I try to cater for every reading need!

Yes! I enjoyed it. It was a bit spookier than I thought it was going to be, but I ended up really enjoying that part.

Thank you. I try to cater for every reading need! Plus I haven’t read loads in each genre so it’s nice to mix and match what I have read.

Excellent list and like the way you offer a range of ideas. Woman in the Library I thought must be a different book than I read because the cover is SO different, but….the author is the same. I’m always thrown by the different covers from UK. I remember reading your review for Moonshyne Manor and being intrigued. Now that it’s here again, think I’ll actually put it on a list!
Thanks for the visit.

Thank you 😊 The UK covers can be so different. I go into shops and the library and suddenly find that the cover I was expecting isn’t there 😂 Reckless Girls was completely different from the US one and I had to double check the blurb!!
Witches of Moonshyne Manor seems popular. I enjoyed it!
That’s ok 😊

I did enjoy it. It’s exactly what I look for in a Halloween book – nothing too scary – just light entertainment!

I think I have heard of a couple of these. But as someone who doesn’t read spooky books (generally speaking) whether light or darker, I don’t know that I’d ever give any of these a chance. Time will tell though! Thanks so much for visiting my website on this week.

I try not to read anything too spooky, but sometimes a ghost or two creeps in.
They will always be there if you ever do consider them 🙂
That’s ok 🙂
