Sunday Salon

Welcome to my Sunday Salon post! Hosted by Readerbuzz this post is a chance to have a weekly bookish and non-bookish catch up with other bloggers.

What I have been reading this week:

Death and the Conjuror by Tom Mead (click for link to Goodreads)

Memes that I have participated in this week:

What else has been happening this week:

It was my son’s first Staff Development Day on Friday which meant that as a student he had a day off. To keep him entertained my parents and I took him to the beach! Yes, it was very cold, and everything except the fish and chip shop and amusement arcade was closed because it was off season, but it was a great day out! We wrapped up warm and wore wellies so that we could paddle in the sea! Saturday my son and I had our hair cut (I also had mine coloured!) as it hadn’t been done since July (?) so needed doing. Today we will be going bird watching at a local winery near us that allows you to walk around the vineyard, orchard and woodland, for our son’s homework.

I hope that you have had a lovely week!

A birding outing at a winery sounds fantastic. I hope you will share photos of the birds you see. I fell and broke my good camera when I was in France last year, so I had to take bird photos with my phone, and that was disappointing.

Death and the Conjuror looks delightful. I hope you enjoy it!

It is such a lovely place. The only problem was that my son was very loud, we can hear traffic when the wind blows in the right direction and as we are in the countryside there was game shooting going on. All of that meant that the only birds we saw were in the sky as dots! We did download an app though and when all of the above was quiet we managed to record some bird sounds…

A broken camera is heartbreaking. I don’t even know where my camera is so it is phone for me.

What is also annoying is that we made a bird feeder and hung it in the tree in the front garden and I haven’t seen a single bird. It is true that we live in an area where everyone seems to have cats…

      Thank you 🙂

I LOVE the beach so I don’t mind going no matter what the weather is. I need to get my hair cut soon. I always had long hair bu the last few years I’ve kept it short because I’m “getting older”.

I actually prefer it when it is colder. More to keep you occupied!!! I did love paddling in the sea in my wellies – an experience I would repeat!!

I love my hair long as I have a round face and think that longer hair thins it out a bit. I think it makes me look a bit younger too. The problem is that with my son it can get in the way so it needs the odd trim!

Beaches in winter can be very exciting. On the Great Lakes, the ice piles up and it’s really dramatic. But it is so cold and there’s always wind. Your trip sounds delightful.
