Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books I Wish Had An Epilogue. I thought that this would be easy as I love an epilogue, but rarely see one. Upon investigating books further most books actually finish off with an epilogue style ending or they are part of a series so didn’t need one.
Here are 10 books that I managed to scrape together:
I basically want to find out what happens to the couples in these books with the exception of The Silent Companions where I want the ending to be more clear cut and The Guest List where I want to know what happens to the Murderer.
Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books With a Unit of Time In the Title (seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, eternity, etc.) (Submitted by RS @ The Idealistic Daydream). I have struggled a bit with this one so a couple of them are clutching at straws!
Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Comfort Reads. I love this sort of post because who doesn’t once in a while want to be comforted by a book?! I chose books that were just nice to read without having to think too much.
So what I have learnt from this list is that books that I find comforting are mainly rom com with a bit of christmas and fantasy thrown in! Don’t get me wrong, I love a Thriller and will be going back to that genre, but sometimes you just need a book that doesn’t require too much thinking at the end of a long day!
“They’ve gone through so much for me, like covering up an actual murder. The least I can do is pretend to like their hideous outfits.”
“Um, could we focus on the whole mafia part instead of the boyfriend-or-not-boyfriend thing? They do illicit things for a living and, uh, kill people who get in their way. And they’re using my wedding as an opportunity to”
“My relationship with Panera was complicated. I liked their soup. Panera didn’t like that I’d poured it over another customer’s head. In my defense, Theresa had started it when she’d attempted to justify her reasons for sleeping with my husband.”
“It’s a widely known fact that most moms are ready to kill someone by eight thirty A.M. on any given morning. On the particular morning of Tuesday, October eighth, I was ready by seven forty-five. If you’ve never had to wrestle a two-year-old slathered in maple syrup into a diaper while your four-year-old decides to give herself a haircut in time for preschool, all while trying to track down the whereabouts of your missing nanny as you sop up coffee grounds from an overflowing pot because in your sleep-deprived fog you forgot to put in the filter, let me spell it out for you.
I was ready to kill someone. I didn’t really care who.”
Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books I Was SO EXCITED to Get, but Still Haven’t Read. This happens to me a lot unfortunately. I underestimate the speed of my reading and the time I actually get to read!

“The Shadowhunters of Los Angeles star in the first novel in Cassandra Clare’s newest series, The Dark Artifices, a sequel to the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series. Lady Midnight is a Shadowhunters novel.
It’s been five years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire that brought the Shadowhunters to the brink of oblivion. Emma Carstairs is no longer a child in mourning, but a young woman bent on discovering what killed her parents and avenging her losses.
Together with her parabatai Julian Blackthorn, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches across Los Angeles, from the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica. If only her heart didn’t lead her in treacherous directions…
Making things even more complicated, Julian’s brother Mark—who was captured by the faeries five years ago—has been returned as a bargaining chip. The faeries are desperate to find out who is murdering their kind—and they need the Shadowhunters’ help to do it. But time works differently in faerie, so Mark has barely aged and doesn’t recognize his family. Can he ever truly return to them? Will the faeries really allow it?
Glitz, glamours, and Shadowhunters abound in this heartrending opening to Cassandra Clare’s Dark Artifices series.”
When America won the Revolutionary War, its people offered General George Washington a crown. Two and a half centuries later, the House of Washington still sits on the throne.
As Princess Beatrice gets closer to becoming America’s first queen regnant, the duty she has embraced her entire life suddenly feels stifling.
Nobody cares about the spare except when she’s breaking the rules, so Princess Samantha doesn’t care much about anything, either . . . except the one boy who is distinctly off-limits to her.
And then there’s Samantha’s twin, Prince Jefferson. If he’d been born a generation earlier, he would have stood first in line for the throne, but the new laws of succession make him third. Most of America adores their devastatingly handsome prince . . . but two very different girls are vying to capture his heart.”
“DOWN – Pinhole is the first book of an explosive new trilogy by international bestselling author, Glenn Cooper. A cross between DANTE’S INFERNO and GAME OF THRONES, DOWN is part historical thriller and part fantasy-adventure, a thought-provoking, page-turning, epic saga that explores the consequences of evil and transports readers to a world unlike any they have ever experienced.
John Camp heads up security at a world’s largest super-collider tunneled around London. Scarred by his wartime experiences, he’s been fighting his demons and putting his life back in order. High on his priorities is his new relationship with physicist Emily Loughty, the collider’s beautiful and accomplished Scottish research director.
When the collider starts up it hits its projected energy target but then inexplicably continues powering much higher. In the blink of an eye Emily disappears and a rough-looking man appears in her place. In fear and confusion the man barrels out of the lab and disappears. His identity may be the only clue to what has happened.
John volunteers to embark on a mission to try and rescue Emily and when the collider is powered up again he finds himself in a strange and terrifying world, geographically identical to Earth but very different. It’s a place some call Down, eternally populated by those who’ve committed the most unforgivable acts of evil during their lives. Here in a world with but a few glimmers of hope, kings and dukes, including infamous historical figures, battle perpetually for supremacy.
In a race against time, John must navigate the terrible landscape of Down and bring home the love of his life before they are trapped for the rest of their lives.
Glenn Cooper, a Harvard graduate, archaeologist, physician, former biotechnology CEO, screenwriter and film producer, has written ten thrillers that have sold over six million copies in thirty translations.”
“In this gripping page-turner, an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life.
She used to work for the U.S. government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn’t even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning.
Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They’ve killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.
When her former handler offers her a way out, she realizes it’s her only chance to erase the giant target on her back. But it means taking one last job for her ex-employers. To her horror, the information she acquires only makes her situation more dangerous.
Resolving to meet the threat head-on, she prepares for the toughest fight of her life but finds herself falling for a man who can only complicate her likelihood of survival. As she sees her choices being rapidly whittled down, she must apply her unique talents in ways she never dreamed of.
In this tautly plotted novel, Meyer creates a fierce and fascinating new heroine with a very specialized skill set. And she shows once again why she’s one of the world’s bestselling authors.”
“Have you stopped believing in happily ever after?
Women today are settling for less than we want when it comes to men, relationships, sex, and marriage. But we don’t have to, argues Elizabeth Kantor. Jane Austen can show us how to find the love we really want.
In The Jane Austen Guide to Happily Ever After, Kantor reveals how the examples of Jane Austen heroines such as Elizabeth Bennett, Elinor Dashwood, and Anne Elliot can help us navigate the modern-day minefields of dating, love, relationships, and sex. By following in their footsteps—and steering clear of the sad endings suffered by characters such as Maria Bertram and Charlotte Lucas—modern women can discover the path to lifelong love and true happiness.
Charged with honesty and humor, Kantor’s book includes testimonies from modern women, pop culture parallels, the author’s personal experiences and, of course, a thorough examination of Austen’s beloved novels.
Featuring characters and situations from all of Jane Austen’s books (including unfinished novels, and stories not published in her lifetime), The Jane Austen Guide to Happily Ever After tackles the dating and relationship dilemmas that we face today, and equips modern women to approach our love lives with fresh insights distilled from the novels:
Don’t be a tragic heroine
Pursue Elizabeth Bennet’s “rational happiness” —learn what it is, and how you can find it
Don’t let cynicism steal your happy ending
Why it’s a mistake to look for your “soul mate”
Jane Austen’s skeleton keys to a man’s potential
How you should deal with men who are “afraid of commitment” (from Jane Austen’s eight case studies)
Learn how to arrange your own marriage—by falling in love the Jane Austen way”
“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and its prequel, Dawn of the Dreadfuls, were both New York Times best sellers, with a combined 1.3 million copies in print. Now the PPZ trilogy comes to a thrilling conclusion with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After.
The story opens with our newly married protagonists, Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy, defending their village from an army of flesh-eating “unmentionables.” But the honeymoon has barely begun when poor Mr. Darcy is nipped by a rampaging dreadful. Elizabeth knows the proper course of action is to promptly behead her husband (and then burn the corpse, just to be safe). But when she learns of a miracle antidote under development in London, she realizes there may be one last chance to save her true love—and for everyone to live happily ever after.
Complete with romance, heartbreak, martial arts, cannibalism, and an army of shambling corpses. Dreadfully Ever After brings the story of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to a thrilling conclusion.”
“Christian Grey exercises control in all things; his world is neat, disciplined, and utterly empty—until the day that Anastasia Steele falls into his office, in a tangle of shapely limbs and tumbling brown hair. He tries to forget her, but instead is swept up in a storm of emotion he cannot comprehend and cannot resist. Unlike any woman he has known before, shy, unworldly Ana seems to see right through him—past the business prodigy and the penthouse lifestyle to Christian’s cold, wounded heart.
Will being with Ana dispel the horrors of his childhood that haunt Christian every night? Or will his dark sexual desires, his compulsion to control, and the self-loathing that fills his soul drive this girl away and destroy the fragile hope she offers him?
See the world of Fifty Shades of Grey anew through the eyes of Christian Grey. In Christian’s own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world.

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is one-Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read (submitted by Susan @ Bloggin’ ’bout Books). I am quite a waffler when it comes to reviews so this one is a bit of a challenge for me!

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week is Books With [ ] On The Cover. I have decided to choose main characters. I like it when the main characters are on the front cover in the middle of a scene. I think it helps to bring the blurb of the book to life.

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week is Bookish Merchandise I’d Love to Own. This is an interesting one. I don’t have a lot of space in my house (largely due to my 3 year old son!) so I try to limit what I buy and also stick to only getting things for Mother’s Day, Birthday and Christmas! This is therefore more of a wish list for if I had a larger house…
