Welcome to my Stacking The Shelves post hosted by Reading Reality. A very quiet week this week for me with one Blog Tour sign up. I have been slowing down as I haven’t done as much reading recently and don’t want to put too much pressure on myself! My son came home with a new library book from school.
Blog Tour Sign Up:
The Venice Secret by Anita Chapman
Book Description From Goodreads:

With help from Jake at the local art gallery, Rachel endeavours to find out if the painting is an original and uncovers a secret from the past.
In 1780, governess at Chipford Hall, Philippa is offered the role of mistress by Earl Rupert. She escapes to Venice as companion to bluestocking, Lady Cordelia who reveals a secret that changes both their lives. I am on the Blog Tour for this book on 17 March 2023 so keep your eyes peeled for my review on here, Amazon, Goodreads, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!
“Everyone loves Percy! He is always ready to help his animal friends and above all have fun outdoors. In this brand new series each title is dedicated to one of Percy’s animal friends and this key title in the series is based on Percy himself! Each book includes stories, poems and interesting information making these books the ultimate guide to Percy and his animal friends.”
What have you been stacking your shelves with this week?
Not an overly long reading session this evening due to me needing yet more sleep, however I have managed to read some of my library book, A Bookshop Christmas by Rachel Burton and my Blog Tour book, Dashboard Elvis Is Dead by David F Ross, so I am still progressing albeit slower than I would like. I will be aiming to read Fingersmith by Sarah Waters tomorrow night. The end is in sight for that book!
Another picture book. I am finding it quite tough to make up stories and this one seems particularly hard. We have gone through it a few times, but I find that I just end up describing what is on the page rather than telling a story.
Hosted by Tourmaline, there is a word set for each day that you can write a post about. As this is a book blog I will be posting about books that I have read that best fits the theme of the day.
Today’s theme is Spider.
I have chosen Incy Wincy Spider. Again my son’s books provide!

When Cherry Lost Terry by Penny Phillips
I am on the Blog Tour for this book on 24 November so keep your eyes peeled for my review on here, Amazon, Goodreads, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!
Book Description From Random Things Tours:
“When Cherry lost Terry one day, Where was he? Could anyone say? Asleep in a tree? Or down by the sea? He couldn’t be too far away.
The animals searched high and low, Unsure what to do, where to go. Would Terry appear? The story is here… Just read it – and then you will know!
When Cherry Lost Terry is a heart-warming and funny tale of friendship and adventure told in twenty-six limericks.
There’s one for every letter of the alphabet, each featuring a different animal — from Ann the Antelope to Zack the Zebra.
With wonderfully detailed and characterful illustrations by Clare Mallison, it’s perfect bedtime reading for the 3-to-6-year-old animal lover starting out on a lifetime of reading delight.”
What have you been stacking your shelves with this week?
This is my son’s first book from school! It is a picture book where we have to describe what is happening on the page, ‘read’ what is on the page and ask questions provided by the school.
I am finding this sort of ‘reading’ a challenge as I like the words to be provided, however I will be writing my own story to go with the pictures at some point.
On a separate note we have also been provided with a reading log to fill in so we have made a start on that.
The books will change on a Tuesday and a Friday so stay tuned for that!
