Library Loot

Welcome to my Library Loot post hosted by The Captive Reader and Real Life Reading! I took my son to the Library yesterday and he thoroughly enjoyed it! Here are the books that he picked up:

Peppa’s Frosty Tale

Book Description From Goodreads:

Cosy up and go on a magical adventure with Peppa!

Once upon a time it was a snowy day, and Granny and Grandpa Pig had a surprise for Peppa and George – they were all going to Frosty Kingdom!

They set off in the sleigh and met the Sugar Plum Fairy on the way! Who else will they see on their wonderful wintery journey?

With a very glittery cover, this new Peppa magical picture book is the perfect gift for sharing with little fairy tale fans.”

Archie’s First Day At School by Emma Brown

Book Description From Goodreads:

“A picture book designed to inform and reassure children who are starting school.

A picture book designed to inform and reassure children who are starting school.

Archie and his big sister Amber are two of the Shady Bay Buddies who live in the close-knit community of Shady Bay Island. Archie is starting school and wondering what to expect. Amber reassures him that it will be fun. We join Archie as he gets ready for school, meets his teacher, Miss Whimsie, and enjoys lots of fun activities on his first day. He even makes a new friend called Woolie. This delightful picture book, with adorable crocheted characters designed and made by Emma Brown, will become a firm favorite with young children as they embark on that all-important first day at school.”

The Prince and the Potty by Nicholas Allan

Book Description From Goodreads:

“It’s time for the prince to use his potty, so it’s off to the Royal Potty Workshop! There are singing potties, potties pulled by corgis, and even super-duper flying Royal Robo-Potties!

But it’s hard work finding the perfect potty for the job … especially when disaster strikes. Can the Royal Baby find his own solution?

From the bestselling creator of The Queen’s Knickers comes a jolly escapade through the world of potties, royalty and tiny accidents!”

We shall see if he takes to any of these. When we were in the Library he liked the Peppa Pig one and wanted me to read it again!

Baby Shark and the Tooth Fairy by Pinkfong

My son has been enjoying this book recently. He absolutely loves the Baby Shark song and when we saw this book we had to get it for him! It only has a couple of the characters from the song, but in the front cover it introduces you to the whole family which is a nice touch.

This is not a rhyming book, but is a sweet story and the illustrations are bold and bright. Hopefully when my son is old enough to start losing teeth this book will help reinforce the idea of the Tooth Fairy!

There’s An Alien In Your Book by Tom Fletcher

Book Description From Goodreads:

“Tom Fletcher and Greg Abbott have created a new interactive adventure, this time featuring an adorable alien who has crash-landed in YOUR book!

You’ll have to help Alien back up into space, because aliens don’t belong on Earth . . . do they?

This sequel to bestsellers There’s a Monster in Your Book and There’s a Dragon in Your Book is packed full of interactive fun, with a gentle message about openness, acceptance and inclusion that will speak to the very youngest readers.”

We started our collection with There’s A Monster In Your Book before moving onto There’s A Dragon In Your Book and finally There’s An Alien In Your Book.

My son loves to read these books and even though he hasn’t quite got the hang of the interactive part of the books, he loves turning the paper pages and listening to mummy read.

The illustrations are beautiful and the book is brilliant with the interative options! Whilst it isn’t a rhyming book it is an enjoyable read and one that we all like to sit and read together.
