Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Favourite Words. Initially I thought that this would be fairly easy, however there are so many words and they all seemed to escape me! After having a proper think about it (and a bit of research!) I came up with this list (definitions from Google):
Perplexed – “completely baffled; very puzzled.”
Discombobulated – “confused and disconcerted.”
Notorious – “famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed.”
Sparkle – “a glittering flash of light.”
Pearlescent – “having a lustre resembling that of mother-of-pearl.”
Illuminating – “helping to clarify or explain something.”
Gubbins – “miscellaneous items; paraphernalia.”
Nincompoop – “a foolish or stupid person.”
Demure – “reserved, modest, and shy (typically used of a woman).”
Ethereal – “extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world.”
⭐Bonus Word!⭐
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – “extraordinarily good; wonderful.”
What are some of your favourite words?

You picked some good ones! I once read a book that I swear described every female character as demure – it was so annoying! Good list!
Here’s mine, although I went with a different spin on the theme this week: https://disorderlydaydreams.blog/2022/10/18/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-words/

These are such great words – and I especially love how descriptive they are, and how they kind of sound like what they mean!

Perplexed is a good one! I tend to like unusual words or words we just never hear because of the kind of “slang” speak we have in the culture now.

Thank you. I first came across it in a poem I had to learn for school when I was 10. Yes, it is a shame that words get “lost”.

As a kid, nincompoop was a favorite word (often used to insult someone). As I’ve gotten older, discombobulated has become a favorite.
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
