Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week’s prompt is Books I Was Super Excited To Get My Hands On But Still Haven’t Read.

Well, this will be difficult to narrow down as I get excited about every book that I get! So in no particular order here is my list (click the titles for links to Goodreads):

Last Devil To Die by Richard Osman

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead by Elle Cosimano

The Christmas Castle In Scotland by Julie Caplin

Dating Dr Dil by Nisha Sharma

The Devil’s Advocate by Steve Cavanagh

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections by Eva Jurczyk

The Complete Novels of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle

Note: Some of these are many, many years old, but I still have hope!

Which books are on your list. Have you read any of these?

I bought the first two Finlay Donovan books… but like many of the books on my shelf, they remain unread. 🙂 I do still think those sound like they’d be lots of fun though so I’m going to hang on to those yet. Hope we all enjoy the many books we have that fit this category.

I stopped buying after the second one, but I am hoping to read that one soon so that I can get the rest of the series!

The first one was good so I have high hopes!

      🤞🏻 For everyone

I have seen mixed reviews about The Department of Rare Books so we shall see.

🤣 I got it due to it’s popularity and am still excited to read it. I just need to find the time 🤣

Rebecca Yarros. It’s one of those books that are page turners and feel great, as long as you don’t ask questions. The story itself is barely glued and can fall apart if you start thinking so you just read without thinking and it’s 5/5. I kind of liked it and bought the 2nd part.

The Richard Osman books are really good. Definitely up there as favourites. I enjoyed the first Finlay Donovan so I have high hopes for the next one!

I’m afraid to read Fourth Wing too, just because the popular booktok books I’ve read were almost always huge disappointments for me. 😂 I also didn’t know that Stephenie Meyer had books outside of Twilight and The Host lol I feel so out of the loop!

I’m generally not too bad with popular books, but this one…

Yes, I was surprised that she had it out too! It was a completely random find years ago!

I was excited about The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections, but I was so disappointed by the first few chapters that I didn’t finish it. The only other one on your list that I’m familiar with is Fourth Wing, and I’m too intimidated by the hype to read it at this point! Hope you enjoy all your books, whenever you get to read them.

I’ve heard that there are mixed reviews about The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections.

It is very big. I saw that there were people queuing up to get the second one in the series!

      Thank you 😊

I’ve seen mixed reviews – and thoughts on this post seem to tend towards the disappointing side. It is making me more nervous about reading it 🤣

      Thank you 😊

Fourth Wing is on my list too! I decided to wait to read this series until all books have been released. I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers. I also have Lady Midnight sitting on my bookshelf left unread.

I hope you love all of these novels when you read them!

🤣 fair enough. I hadn’t thought about the rest of the series.

It is such a large book isn’t it. I have loved her other books which is why I got it, but I just haven’t got round to reading it yet!

      Thank you 😊

As usual, your list is a great one! I loved Lady Midnight and all of the Finlay Donovan books – I really liked the Finlay Donovan books on audio. And I’ve been meaning to read Fourth Wing since I got it … but you know how that goes! Here’s to loving our books whenever we find the time to read them.

They are brilliant in my opinion. I am really looking forward to the next one. I have put it on my list of 20 Books of Summer Challenge so 🤞🏻 I will get to it soon.

I came across it by accident years ago and thought it sounded good. I loved Twilight and The Host. The Host should be spoken about more in my opinion.

I binged read the Eddie Flynn series up to book 5, but for some reason stopped right before The Devil’s Advocate. I read The Chemist but don’t remember much about it, but I loved Fourth Wing! It’s got its issues and I know there are many who feel that it’s overhyped, but I loved it anyway and I hope you do too when you read it!

I started at Fifty Fifty and loved that so collected the rest. I have yet to read them 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

At least you don’t remember anything negative about The Chemist?

I am looking forward to Fourth Wing 😊
