Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, this week it is Books I Love That Were Written Over 10 Years Ago. This was a hard one in terms of picking just 10! There are so many books that I love that are over 10 years old.
So in no particular order:

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (click for link to Goodreads) published 15 September 2009

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (click for link to Goodreads) first published 6th November 1939

Emma by Jane Austen (click for link to Goodreads) first published 23rd September 1815

Carbonel by Barbara Sleigh (click for link to Goodreads) published in 1955

The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn (click for link to Goodreads) first published 5th December 2000

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith (click for link to Goodreads) first published 1st April 2009

Can you keep a secret? By Sophie Kinsella (click for link to Goodreads) published 2003 by Black Swan

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (click for link to Goodreads) published 31st August 2010

Death Comes To Pemberly by P.D. James (click for link to Goodreads) first published 3rd November 2011

Flambards by K M Peyton (click for link to Goodreads) first published 1967

My mum randomly got it for me when I was younger and into reading her childhood pony books. I loved it. I’ve never read the next books though as I believe them to be quite emotional π€£

A lot of people are talking about Clockwork Angel, and it’s so hard to believe it’s already been around for 10 years! Did the sequels/ series really take that long?! Same goes for P&P and Zombies…

Such a great list of good books. I also found it hard to only keep it to 10 books this week. I only read Clockwork Angel and it’s a good book for sure.

Thank you. She has written so many. I love her work though. I found a new one through hopping around the blogosphere today!

That’s funny! I agree maybe the originals can be tough. I thought I’d LOVE Sense and sensibility since I love the Emma Thompson adaptation, but I didn’t get very far lol. I may try again

Yes, the essense of the stories are great! I thought it might be the language of the time, but when you read a Bronte it’s completely different.

Deathg Comes To Pemberley and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies both looked good to me, but I haven’t read them yet. For someone who hasn’t read a ton of Austen I do seem to be drawn to Austen spin offs sometimes!

Haha the originals can be hard going in my opinion. I love the essence of the stories and love the retellings. over lockdown I did a free online Austen course and honestly liking retellings was a bit of a no no π everyone was friendly about it but you knew when you had struck a nerve π

Great list! I didn’t even think of the Bridgerton novels, and I really enjoyed Clockwork Angel, although I hadn’t realized it was written so long ago!

Fantastic list! π And Then There Were None made my list this week. I would’ve put Clockwork Angel on it, but I focused on books published before 1990.

Thank you. Ah I didn’t put a date on mine. I wasn’t sure how many I would find – I needn’t have worried!

Same, I went through a phase of buying the Miss Marples so that I had a nice matching set. The problem was that I was buying them quicker than reading them!

I had a different KM Peyton book on my list this week, but I loved the Flambards series too!
