What else has been happening this week:
On Tuesday I went with my parents back to the Ashford Outlet to take back some shoes that claimed to be waterproof, but after walking my son to and from school in the rain (not even hard rain) they leaked. The shop was very good about it and let us swap them for some different ones. Friday I went into school with my son to do some reading with him and then went to a Math’s drop in session where I could ask questions. The weekend came and the cold that my son was battling earlier in the week had been successfully transferred to me. I then went to London for my sister’s 30th birthday celebration feeling very sorry for myself. Today will be spent chilling.
I hope that you all had a good week.

I was shocked to find that J. C. Penney took back my granddaughter’s winter boots when they didn’t hold up. Glad you had good results from your shop, too.
I’m eager to read something Christmas-y this year. I’m looking for something that would really wow me.

I was just so surprised. You sort of expect it to be a problem and a bit of a fight but no. I was really impressed.
Yeah. I don’t have high expectations as the actual Christmas storylines can be a bit meh. I just like the Christmassy settings 😂

Oh to be in London now that December’s here, not! Feel better soon.

It’s way too cold to have to deal with leaky shoes, I’m glad you were able to get something better.

Ergh it is. And then it’s a waste of socks too! I always have such trouble tracking down socks. They go into the washing machine together then get separated for eternity!!!
I was very impressed with the service. I was expecting them to argue.

Hi there Emily!
I have been battling a cold for a whole week now and it’s just dreadful.
I know about JRR Tolkien’s Christmas letters book, but I haven’t read it yet.
I hope you will have a good week ahead and feel a whole lot better as well!

Hi! Ergh it is ridiculous isn’t it. My body just doesn’t handle being ill well.
It’s very cute. I’ve only read the first few pages, but I enjoyed them!
Thank you. You too ☺️

Fingersmith is on my TBR and was highly recommended by others on my 6 degrees of separation post. Guess I’ll have to read it soon. Thanks for the visit.

It is a really good book. Very heavy on the detail, but I think that’s part of its charm. It took me over a month to read it 🤣 but then I am a slow reader and had a couple of Blog Tours …
No problem ☺️

I loved Fingersmith and am glad you liked it when you read it. I hope you are feeling better from your cold. My daughter passed one on to me a week or so ago. I’m finally getting over it. I am glad you were able to return the boots! I hope you have a great week and month of December!

Yes. I wasn’t sure at the beginning, but then I got really into it. It took me a month to read but I didn’t lose the enthusiasm for it.
It’s the one thing you don’t want them to share!!!
I was really impressed with the service.
Thank you. You too 😊

Today will be my first time wearing my new winter boots and they had better keep my tootsies warm and dry!
Hope you’re feeling better soon! What a bummer to feel lousy while in London of all places!

Haha. It’s always a risk – not that it should be when they say that they are waterproof…
Thank you. Yes, I was very upset. I love London and don’t get up there very often

I had a similar experience with a shoe store recently but they took care of me too. I posted all about their great service on my personal social media. I know my sister bought shoes from them afterward and they’ve got a faithful customer in me now. It’s so nice when something we expect to be a headache turns out to be an easy experience, isn’t it?
Your reading certainly fits the season! I’m ready to dive into something holiday-ish but I’m caught in a couple of good but long books that seem to be neverending.
Enjoy your week! I hope you feel better!

It really is. It’s a shame I thought so low – speaks volumes really doesn’t it?!
I hope you get some festive reading done. I didn’t get as much done last year as I would have liked due to finishing other books.
Thank you 😊
